In 2018, State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing System Engineering has passed the fourth national evaluation and gained the excellent results.

In May 2015, State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing System Engineering achieved CMA certification.

In January 2015, State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing System Engineering has changed the organization structure and built the fifth academic committee as the leader of Academician Tan J.R. as well as the fifth administrative organization of the laboratory as the leader of Professor LI D.C.  

In November 2013, State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing System Engineering has passed the third national evaluation and gained the excellent results.

In March 2009, State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing System Engineering has changed the organization structure and built the forth academic committee as the leader of Academician Tan J.R. as well as the forth administrative organization of the laboratory as the leader of Professor LI D.C.  

In July 2008, State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing System Engineering has passed the second national evaluation.

In June 2004, State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing System Engineering has changed the organization structure and built the third academic committee as the leader of Academician Xiong Y.L. as well as the third administrative organization of the laboratory as the leader of Professor Guan X.H.

In November 2003, State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing System Engineering has passed the first national evaluation.

In March 1999, State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing System Engineering has changed the organization structure and built the second academic committee as the leader of Academician Xiong Y.L. as well as the second administrative organization of the laboratory as the leader of Professor Guan. X.H.

In February 1996, State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing System Engineering met the national acceptance standard and officially open-door to the outside world.

In November 1994, State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing System Engineering set up the first academic committee as the leader of Academician Hu B.S. and the firse administrative organization of the laboratory as the leader of Professor Sun G.J.

In 1991, the loan projects were launched and the International tender projects of equipment procurement were started. At the same time, the State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing System Engineering started established.

In August 1989, the loan of the World Bank (1,200,000 dollars) could be utilized through the authorization of the National Development and Reform Commission. The State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing System Engineering based on the laboratory of Mechanical Manufacture and Automation, Management Science and Engineering, and System Engineering which all were the key of national laboratories were prepared to build through these three laboratories.

In 1987, ‘Computer Integrated Manufacturing System (CIMS)’ was composed of the discipline of System Engineering, the discipline of Machine Manufacturing and the discipline of Management Engineering.
