Hongbin Sun is currently a Professor in the School of Electrical and Information Egnieering at Xi'an Jiaotong University. He received the B.S. and Ph.D degrees in electrical engineering from the Xi'an Jiaotong University, China in 2003 and 2009, respectively. He worked as a Visiting Scholar at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute during 2007-2008. He worked as a Post-doc at Xi'an Jiaotong University during 2009-2011. He joined the faculty of Xi'an Jiaotong University as an associate professor in 2011, and became a full professor in 2017.

He is a senior member of IEEE (elevated in 2019). His current research interests are integrated circuit and system for computing, memory and video signal processing.
