Speaker Bio

Hua Qu, Ph.D., professor, and Ph.D. supervisor, is the dean of Information and Communication Technology Research Institute of Xi'an Jiaotong University. He has been engaged in information and communication studies, computer and interdisciplinary research, and large-scale information and communication technology engineering projects for nearly 40 years since 1982. He has witnessed the development of information communication since China's reform and opening up. He has experienced the era of great changes and is one of the contributors to communication development. In various international cooperation and exchange activities, he has been in Japan, the United States, Germany, Switzerland, and other countries. He is a member of the Chinese Expert Group of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), one of the Chinese experts in Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT), and a visiting professor of renowned universities and enterprises. His main research directions are future network, mobile broadband network, 5G communication, 6G communication, intelligent network, next-generation Internet, mobile Internet, software-defined network, smart city, space-air-ground integration network, digital city, and the digital economy. He has won 13 first and second prizes of provincial/ministerial-level scientific and technological achievements, presided over 26 national major/key projects or sub-projects, and more than 50 provincial/ministerial-level projects. He has published some 240 high-level professional papers and 6 books, obtained about 110 national authorized invention patents, and formulated 18 domestic and international standards.

曲桦,博士,教授、博士生导师。西安交大信息与通信技术研究院院长,1982年起从事信息通信、计算机以及交叉学科,大型信息通信技术工程项目研究近40年,中国改革开放以来信息通信事业发展的见证人,经历了通信发展的大变革时代和贡献者,1984年起先后在日本、美国、德国、瑞士等国家开展国际合作与交流,是国际电信联盟中国专家组成员、亚太电信中国专家、世界名校与名企访问和客座教授等,主要研究方向:未来网络、宽带移动网络、5G通信、6G通信、智能网络、下一代互联网、移动互联网、软件定义网络、智慧城市、空天地一体化网络、数字城市与数字经济等。先后获得省部级科技成果一、二等奖奖励13项,主持国家重大项目、重点项目及子课题26项,省部级和其它项目50多项,发表高水平专业论文240余篇,获国家授权发明专利110多项,制定国内国际标准18项,专业著作6部。

Abstract

The 5G era marks a new stage in the human information and communication industry. It is a great achievement of human society and also a necessary condition for rapid development. It constantly leads and promotes information society breakthroughs. Reflecting on the service history of modern information and communication in the past 150 years, human intelligence has created an endless stream of communication modes and made remarkable contributions to social development, such as telephone communication, communication network, packet switch, optical fiber communication, Internet, internet of things, broadband communication, wireless mobile communication, mobile Internet, space-air-ground integration network, intelligent network, cloud computing and big data, star chain network, etc. As society develops further, this process will accelerate the pace of evolution, lead the theme of a sharing economy in the high-speed information network and digital environment, and play a critical role in promoting the great development of the smart city, digital city, and digital economy, moving towards a better future of information and communication development.

5G时代,标志着人类信息通信事业已发展到一个新的阶段,它不仅是人类社会的巨大成就,而且是快速发展的必要条件,不断引领和推动信息社会的突破。回顾150年来现代信息通信的服务史,人类的聪明才智,创造了层出不穷的通信方式,为社会发展做出了巨大贡献,诸如:电话通信、通信网络、分组交换、光纤通信、互联网,物联网、宽带通信、无线移动通信、移动互联网、空天地一体化网络、智能网络、云计算与大数据、星链网络等。随着社会的进一步发展,这一历程将加快了她的演变步伐,在高速信息网络与数字化环境下,引领共享经济的主旋律,为智慧城市、数字城市与数字经济的大发展发挥重要的推动作用,从而迈向信息通信发展的美好未来。





Model, Machine Learning, And Perovskite

模型,机器学习与钙钛矿

Speaker Bio

Dawei Wang is a professor at the School of Microelectronics, Xi'an Jiaotong University. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics from Peking University in 2000 and 2002, respectively. He received his Ph.D. from Queen's University (Canada) in 2008. He did postdoctoral work with Professor Laurent Bellaiche (APS fellow) at the University of Arkansas. He has presided or co-presided over several projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His research focuses on the theoretical and numerical simulation of perovskites and the strategy of applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to simulation. He has discovered important physical phenomena, such as Fermi Resonance and Fano Resonance in perovskites. His publications include about 60 research papers in prestigious high-level international journals, including Nature Materials, Physical Review Letters, Nature Communications, Physical Review B, Advanced Functional Materials, and so on.

王大威,微电子学院教授。2000, 2002年获得北京大学物理学学士与硕士学位。2008年在加拿大女王大学获得博士学位。之后在学Laurent Bellaiche(APS fellow)教授组(阿肯色大学)进行了博士后工作。主持或参与国家自然科学基金面上、重点等项目多项。研究工作集中于钙钛矿结构材料的理论与计模拟研究,以及将人工智能、机器学习应用于模拟的策略。发现了钙钛矿中包括费米共振和Fano共振在内的重要物理现象,发表60余篇研究论文,包括Nature Materials,Physical Review Letters,Nature Communications, Physical Review B, Advanced Functional Materials等。


Abstract

Modeling is merely a human construct - not the real world - but it is indispensable to our research and helps us better understand the real complex world. Traditionally, people use three techniques to overcome various difficulties in research: simplified models, approximate solutions, and developing multiscale models. As machine learning exemplified by AlphaGo and AlphaGo Zero increasing importance in recent years, machine-learning-assisted modeling and physics-informed machine learning are gaining traction. I introduce significant recent advances in modeling and machine learning and relate them to our research on perovskites and other systems.

虽然模型只是人造的工具而不是现实世界,但其对于理解复杂的真实世界是必不可少的。传统上在对真实世界的探索中,人们主要使用三种技术以克服研究中的种种困难:简化模型、数值近似解以及发多尺度模型。近年来随着以AlphaGo和AlphaGo Zero所代表的机器学习的兴起,机器学习辅助建模和物理知识机器学习正日益受到重视。在报告中,我将介绍建模和机器学习的一些最新重要进展,并展示建模与机器学习在我们对钙钛矿和其他体系的研究中的应用。
