In order to promote the academic exchange and rapid development of the discipline of mechanical engineering of the members of the " University Alliance of Silk Road ", in line with the principle of "unity, mutual trust, equality and mutual benefit, tolerance and mutual benefit, cooperation and mutual benefit", the heads of mechanical engineering disciplines of many universities Equality and friendly consultations decided that the School of Mechanical Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University would start the establishment of the " Advanced Manufacturing Sub-Alliance of the University Alliance of the Silk Road ".

On October 15, 2016, the five affiliated schools of the Sub-Union signed the Sub-Association Strategic Collaboration Framework Agreement at the School of Mechanical Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University. The agreement stipulates the in-depth cooperation between the alliance units in discipline construction, scientific research platform construction, major key project declaration, talent training, and talent introduction and teacher construction. In the future, the sub-confederation will absorb more mechanical disciplines from universities at home and abroad, better promote the development of mechanical disciplines, and strengthen inter-school exchanges, personnel training, scientific research cooperation, etc. between universities and regions along the Silk Road Economic Belt.
