Introduction to the Speaker:
Jin Zhong, Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the School of Foreign Languages, Xi’an Jiaotong University. In 1995, he went to Japan to study and specialized in classical Japanese literature at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. During his studies, he received the "Student Commendation" award from the university five times. In 2006, he obtained his Ph.D. in Literature. Upon returning to China, he began teaching at his alma mater, Xi’an Jiaotong University.
In 2009, he published *The Collection of Poems by Dr. Jin Zhong During His Studies in Japan*, which is composed of three parts: *Five Thousand Years of Love With You*, *Youth in Progress*, and *Please Come Close to My Heart* (published by Shaanxi People’s Publishing House). He founded the "Chinese Classical Poetry Class" under the Chinese Studies Society at Xi’an Jiaotong University, voluntarily tutoring students in poetry writing. Since 2010, he has offered an elective course on poetry creation open to the entire university.
In 2013, he published *Principles of Poetry Creation* and *Modern Poetry Criticism* (Shaanxi Normal University General Publishing House). In 2014, he published *On the Translation of Japanese Poetry* (Peking University Press), and was selected for the first "Shaanxi Humanities Talent Program in Higher Education" implemented by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education.
He has given numerous lectures and poetry recitals on Chinese and Japanese poetry culture in both countries and has held five personal poetry recitals in Tokyo. Dedicated to the creation, criticism, recitation, international exchange, and promotion of poetry, he strives to revive the essence of Chinese traditional poetry in contemporary times.
