Dr. Guidong Yang is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), and he is also a dean at the school of chemical engineering (scientific research) at XJTU and the director of the XJTU-Oxford International Joint Laboratory for Catalysis. He received a bachelor's degree and a doctorate from China University of Petroleum (East China) in 2005 and 2010, respectively, and conducted a joint Ph.D. study in the Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory, University of Oxford from 2008 to 2010. He joined Xi'an Jiaotong University as an assistant professor in 2011. He is a Young Changjiang Scholar of the Ministry of Education and chief scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program and is also awarded an outstanding scientific and technological worker and Wang Kuancheng Young Scholar in the national petroleum and chemical industry. He also served as a youth member of several expert groups, like the China Chemical Industry Association, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and the Chemical Science and Technology Think Tank of the China Association for Science and Technology. And he was appointed to the board of directors of the Shaanxi Chemical Industry Society. In recent years, he has served as the editorial board member of six journals including the Chinese Journal of Catalysis. His main research topics are the design, preparation, and energy/environment application of novel multi-scale photocatalytic and adsorption materials. He is the principal investigator (PI) of 20 grants funded by the National Key Research and Development Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Basic Research Plan in Shaanxi Province of China, and the enterprise projects. In recent years, he has won the first prize in Shaanxi Natural Science Award (ranked first), Hou Debang Youth Award for Chemical Science and Technology, Sanqin Youth Star of Scientific and Technological Innovation, Shaanxi Petrochemical Youth Science and Technology Award, Shaanxi Youth Science and Technology New Star, Jiangsu Province and other honors. So far, He has published more than 60 SCI papers, among them, 12 SCI paper was selected as ESI hot papers and ESI highly cited papers. His H-index is 33.
