Bio: Warwick Gullett served as Associate Dean (Research) and Head of Postgraduate Studies in the Faculty of Law, University of Wollongong, from 2009-2011. He was Deputy Director and Acting Director of the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS) in 2012 prior to being appointed Dean of Law on 1 November 2012 until 31 December 2016. His research interests focus on legalprotection of the marine environment and the international law of the sea. He is the author of Fisheries Law in Australia (335pp, LexisNexis Butterworths, 2008) and co-editor of Marine Pollution Contingency Planning: State Practice in Asia-Pacific States (233pp, Brill/Nijhoff, 2016), Asia-Pacific and the Implementation of the Law of the Sea: Regional Legislative and Policy Approaches to the Law of the Sea Convention (230pp, Brill/Nijhoff, 2016) and Marine Resources Management (359pp, LexisNexis Butterworths, 2011). Professor Gullett is Current Legal Developments editor for the Asia-Pacific Journal of Ocean Law and Policy. He was formerly on the editorial committee of the Environmental and Planning Law Journal and the Australasian Journal of Natural Resources Law and Policy and editor of the Australian Journal of Maritime and Ocean Affairs (2007-2010). Professor Gullett has written extensively on laws regarding the marine environment, in particular focusing on fisheries law, marine protected areas, marine resource management and jurisdictional issues.
