2019 International Workshop on Thermo-Fluid Science and Engineering

On April 10^th, 2019, 2019 International Workshop on Thermo-Fluid Science and Engineering, organized by International Joint Research Laboratory of Thermal Science and Engineering and MOE Key Laboratory of Thermo-Fluid Science and Engineering, was held in Science Hall of Xi’an Jiaotong University. Prof. Qiuwang WANG, vice dean of School of Energy and Power Engineering, hosted the opening ceremony. Academician Wenquan TAO, chairman of the workshop, and vice president Prof. Tiejun WANG made opening speeches to welcome guests at home and abroad. Academician Wenquan TAO and Prof. Terry SIMON from University of Minnesota hosted six plenary lectures, which were given by Prof. Man Yeong HA from Pusan National University, Dr. Simwon CHIN from Air Research Laboratory of LG Electronics, Prof. Guirong YANG from University of Colorado at Boulder, Prof. Jiří Jaromír KLEMEŠ from Brno University of Technology, Prof. A.A. MOHAMAD from University of Calgary, and Prof. Guihua TANG from Xi’an Jiaotong University, respectively. 20 experts from USA, UK, Italy, Spain, Russia, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong and Taiwan made keynote lectures in the fields of heat and mass transfer, and new energy. The workshop is focused on the frontier scientific issues of heat mass and transfer, new energy and renewable energy. Experts and representatives made active speech and positive communication, and gained a lot from academic exchanges.

At present, new changes have taken place in energy supply and demand pattern in the world, and the development of energy faces new challenges as well, so the innovation of energy science and technology are needed to promote social development. International Workshop on Thermo-Fluid Science and Engineering built an important international exchange and cooperative platform for high-level institutions in the fields of energy, power and environment, and played an important role in promoting talent cultivation, academic exchanges, scientific research, etc. The international workshop is supported by School of Energy and Power Engineering, Energy Sub-Alliance in University Alliance of the Silk Road as well as 111 Project.
