Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU)'s dragon boat team won second-place in the 2024 International Elite Universities Water Sports Open, which was held on June 1 in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

The participating teams included over 20 prestigious universities worldwide such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Macau, Harvard University, University of Cambridge, University of California (Berkeley), University of Tokyo, National University of Singapore, and Yonsei University.

The competition officially began at 9 am that day. In the first round of the group stage, the XJTU dragon boat team displayed high morale and determination to win, and secured first place in their group with an overwhelming advantage, successfully advancing to the finals.

In the preliminary round of the second-stage finals, facing strong opponents, the XJTU team did not back down and ultimately achieved fourth place in their group, advancing to the minor finals.

In the third round, the minor finals for rankings took place. After fierce competition, the XJTU team took first place.

Since its establishment in 2017, the XJTU dragon boat team has consistently risen to new challenges, improving rapidly. Over the past seven years, the team has been invited to participate in numerous dragon boat races domestically and internationally, continuously setting new records and demonstrating their immense potential for growth.
