Deputy Secretary of the CPC XJTU Committee

Zhang Liqun, Han ethnicity, born in February 1969, holds a master's and a doctoral degree. He is a professor and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a member of the Communist Party of China.

He is in charge of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU)'s administrative affairs and financial and auditing matters.

He previously served as vice-president of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, president of South China University of Technology (SCUT) and deputy secretary of the CPC SCUT Committee.

In March 2024, he was appointed president of XJTU and deputy secretary of the CPC XJTU Committee.

He is also a member and standing committee member of the 13th Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
